Hi - In this thread, try to write from your character's POV as much as possible, but you can also drop out of character (or temporarily into someone else's) in order to put in some exposition.
Here's how to do character switches:
[character POV: name]
[narration]
[character POV: other name]
The universe set up here:
Every Yuki Kaori character lives in part of a huge apartment block that she owns/runs. On the first floor in the lobby there's a big mailbox area where you can leave messages for other characters.
Each series has its own floor, in approximate order of when the series got written. ^_^ The floor is decorated like a piece of that world -- Victorian decor on Cain's floor, modern angst decor in Angel Sanctuary, futuristic decor in Neji, etc.
The characters have their own personalities and affiliations; the only change to who they are is that they're aware they're also hired to be manga inspirations and models, and they're aware of the existence of the other series and the people in them. So you don't get world shock going from one floor to the next; it's just most natural for people to behave in the idiom of their own world/floor. (For example, I'd imagine Cain could use a computer if he had to, but he prefers to leave that to the servants; Riff has probably learned how to use email because it's just another form of correspondence which he handles for his master, but he thinks there's something more inherently elegant about a properly written paper invitation...)
So who wants to jump in? ^__^
Anyone want to create a second setup?

OK.....I was overcome with slight confusion at first, but now I believe I have everything straight ^_^
Ok, so the Setup is like the story line...ne? And there can be multiple setups, so multiple story lines...?
Or have I gotten this entirely wrong ^_^;;;;;
What I had originally thought what was happening was that the RPG would take place in say the Count Cain universe
But now that I think about it, the apartment thing works because then the character can interact with each other without having to worry about the whole time line thing.

Yep, you've got it exactly!
I wanted at least one "setup" where people could be anyone from the Yukiverse.
If you want to make a Count Cain-universe-specific setup, go ahead - make your two threads for admin (the rules/regs/what POV/what's going on/etc) and the start of the roleplaying, and have fun!
I'm just no good at actively GMing things like mysteries, so I wanted to create one somewhat GMless setup and just have Riff ride herd on whatever starts happening... ^_^;;

Ummm, hello? I think I need a little help in understanding the guide, First, if the character is all a sane actor, doesn't it meant it will get OOC? (I mean, some of the character couldn't even described as normal and sane, with emphasizement on the sane part ). And furthermore, I think it would "resetting" all the connection the character has. Example follows: Alexis is Cain's abusive father, and if he is a sane actor...well, that would be very confusing (at least to me =P) I think it's neat to have all the character in the same apartment (imagine an apartment full of psychopath!) -->a psychiatrist paradise. lol

And furthermore, I think it would "resetting" all the connection the character has. Example follows: Alexis is Cain's abusive father, and if he is a sane actor...well, that would be very confusing (at least to me =P) Oh, I never said they were *sane* actors! ^^;;;;; They're all themselves; they all have their own personality idiosyncracies and sometimes insanity; they all have their established interrelationships with members of their series. They're just also aware that they're paid to let this very twisted woman tell one or more of them what to do to act out her storyline on "stage" in their series-floor, and she draws them acting out that part of her script. And they know that you Do Not Cross The Author if you want to continue to live, let alone be employed... except, of course, that now The Author is on vacation... And she writes based on who the people are, so there's not much acting involved except for the literal "posing people in the right places to be drawn" part. She tells the stories based on having gotten to know the characters. When they're not "at work"/not doing something she's scripted, they're still just like they always were... and they tend to hold grudges from events in the story. Because even if the event didn't happen "unscripted" in their plotline -- even if, say, Alexis tries to use the excuse to Cain that "the Author made me try to poison you" -- the rationale for that is that she's verrry good at observing who people are and what they would be likely to do. Cain's response to Alexis saying "she made me try to poison you" would likely be along the lines of "you can't tell me you didn't enjoy every minute of it" or "but you were the one who put ACTUAL poison in the props" or something... see? So Alexis is his usual sadistic evil self; he just also has some competition for the title of "sickest SOB around" from various other series' cast members... and he plots things for their "real world" just as much as he plots things for Yuki-sensei's storyline; it's just that his "real world" plots aren't what she draws. (And the example "flashback" I mentioned in Riff's bit got his license to leave the building revoked... while the author was there... which she's not anymore...) see how it goes...?

(clasp her hand together gleefully) Thank you, RisuChan! I think I understand now. So they're basically their usual evil, insane, and morbid selves (I couldn't think of Yuki create normal character ^^; . So instead of actors who trying to behave like Yuki-sensei's 'character', they're more like Yuki's characters who get collected together and get supervised (i.e trying to living together, without actually killing each other--with emphasizement of 'try', well, but one might say that there's likely many 'accidental happening?' XD ) by the mighty author ^^;; uhm, so, second question....is their 'special' status would still applied? like Suou being vampire? or Rosiel being an angel? or Delilah still exist?(well, Cain still has his butler and servants, so why Alexis couldn't has his minion ^^; sorry for asking too much question, just want to make sure I didn't screwed up the RP^^ (BTW I posted my part, Yay! please feel free to tells me if there's somethings wrong)

Yep, everyone's their "existing" selves -- but whether or not they've *revealed* that to the denizens of the other series is up to the person writing that story. (For example, Kitty might decide that Suou is trying to pass for "eccentric human playboy" to people who don't already know he's a vampire and people on the other floors...)
Ed: Got to read your piece. Oooh! I like! ^___^ (having a much better day now... grumblegrowlseeHostboardgrouch....)
Going to try to get a chance to write up another bit over lunch if possible... gonna gulp down something resembling food & come back. ^^;;

Hmmm...anyone care to write out the order of the floors? I'm not quite sure of the exact order that Kaori Yuki has done her stories.
^______^
So that way if Cain has to go chasing after Merryweather to drag her away from Kaine(IF he ever finds out XD), I'll know exactly how tired he should be after running up those stairs XD

All hail Digital Angel, wherein I knew I would find a timeline if anyone on the planet had done one...
Condensed therefrom, and taking the date of the first release of a chapter as "when a new floor is required" (so even though Neji had a 7 year gap between chapters, and the book wasn't published until '01, sequentially it comes after Cain in terms of starting dates):
Floor 1: Count Cain - 07.25.92
Floor 2: Neji ~ 06.25.01 (but the first story was written in 1992)
Floor 3: Cruel Fairytales ~ 01.25.93
Floor 4: Gravel Kingdom ~ 05.25.93
Floor 5: Angel Sanctuary 1994~2000
Floor 6: Kaine ~ 10.25.96 Boy's Next Door 03.25.98 [arbitrarily assigning them to the same "floor" because the worlds are similar and they're both small casts and for all I know it could have been the same world in her head... ^_^]
Floor 7: Ludwig Revolution - 1999 to 2001
Floor 8: Blood Hound ~ Night Lover Special Shop 2003

Alter: hee hee hee! ^___^ Going to think on this one... as the GM it seems only fair if Cain is going to have to scrounge for Drano, Jez is going to have to scrounge for sharp objects... but I can easily see Riff weighing the mayhem potential of Jezebel's "single-minded one-person fixation and needs to be in hand-to-hand range to commit his mayhem" vs Alexis' "I plot to blow up entire major cities before breakfast" and easily deciding that Jezebel is by far the lesser of two evils... Ed: Okay, the reply's in the thread. Riff made him a counteroffer. Does he take it or not? (BTW, do you know why it is Riff isn't immediately trying to block out everything that Dr. Disraeli might want to do here? If not, do you want to know or not?) (Translation, playing on the edge of spoiler space, and trying not to tip my hand to anyone who doesn't already know -- but as Dr. Disraeli's player, Dr. Disraeli would know the answer -- but if you don't want to know the answer because it might be a spoiler for yet-unscanslated stuff, I can just say "you'll probably be able to get some things out of Riff without resorting to out-and-out blackmail if you're creative/talk to me about it and we can plot a couple things.")

RisuChan, Jez would gladly accept the offer ^^, my future planning o' post: 1. Jez accept Riff's offer-goes to dining hall, angsting and meet Cashian. 2. Makes a pair entry for Cashian (as long as no one claims him^^) 3. Threaten Cain/tried to known whether Cain is losing his weapon as well (his cane, poisons, gun)--looking forward to see you, Carole^^ I'm still stuck at the no.1 now I'm not good at angst, and Jez has so many of them--so I kinda indecisive to write.........and school has come to get me either P.S Carole and Risu, you guys posted really fast (shamed by her own lazyness), we already had the page 2? )

I have my drano post all locked away in my head. I plan on typing it out when I get home from school today, or after I get back from work. I kind of took a day off of posting so that people could catch up in their reaing XD

Alter: Cool. Post me a list of what Dr. J has requested and Riff will apply discretion to the list... ^___^ BTW, I kind of gave Dr. J a hook to the AS thread too -- under the theory that he probably hangs out at the rooftop garden a lot, and Sara's met him there, and has been totally taken in by his "I'm really a nice guy" facade and the little birds chirping on his fingertips and all that. ^__^ So he's been invited to the tea party on the Angel Sanctuary floor if he wants to show up... I leave that one up to you... let me know in this thread or the Plot Hooks thread whether he wants to come/whether he has anything in mind to do with Sara or whether she's just irrelevant to his Cain-obsession because Cain probably doesn't know her very well if at all, and she can't really be used for a hold on him... Dr. J really does have an evil genius for acting so perfectly angelic and trustworthy that I thought it'd be funny to have him using it on people outside his own series who wouldn't have had as much background forewarning; what do you think? (Plus I can kind of imagine him talking to Sara just to have someone to talk to who's NOT an actively homicidal psychopath like the rest of the people he hangs out with... and getting a chance to gripe about his half-brother to someone who doesn't know either of them and isn't already going at it with the assumption that Cain's the one in the right... just a thought...)

I was wondering...Risu, is it OK if Riff has a lil' admirer?
Is just that I thought that Raziel could admire Riff for how well he serves his master. I thought that maybe Raziel wants to be to Zaphkiel what Riff is to Cain (he already is, but I guess he's kinda slow in that matter ^-^U), and maybe he thinks he could learn from Riff's example.
Also, since he is the youngest of the sidekicks he might want to impress his elders. Is that ok?
Anyway I will be posting (at last!) later today. If I don't do it today then I don't know when -_-U...
